TRANQUILITY

24 in. x 24 in.

12 in. x 12 in.

Oil on Canvas

This triptych explores texture, form, and movement through close observation of natural subjects. The first panel focuses on the bold, structured surface of a prickly-pear cactus, its spines and pads rendered in vivid, tactile detail. The second panel shifts to the delicate folds of a peony, offering a study in softness, color, and intricate layering. The third work — composed of two adjoining panels — reinterprets a traditional Japanese print of butterflies, capturing their ephemeral motion with a contemporary hand. Together, the pieces invite reflection on contrasts between strength and fragility, stillness and flight, and the timeless beauty found in close attention to nature.
