Oil on Canvas
Set against a surreal and shifting sky, Provenance depicts the Château de Chillon, a medieval fortress on the shores of Lake Geneva. The castle rises in silhouette under a glowing moon, its form bathed in hues of emerald, crimson, and indigo that dissolve into the lake below. With its bold color palette and dramatic contrast, the painting evokes a sense of timelessness and quiet wonder.
This was the artist’s first oil painting, completed during her undergraduate studies. Preserved and proudly displayed by her parents—who often joked that its price tag was the cost of her college education—it stands as both a personal and artistic origin story. Provenance is a tribute not only to place, but to beginnings, memory, and the enduring support behind a creative life.
